Bali Cafe - A Taste of Paradise

Bali Cafe is a café-bar in the heart of Tallinn, in the Rotermanni Quarter.

Carlos came to me for a rebrand of his new café, with one clear goal: to translate his vision into a brand. Carlos spent several years living in Bali and Lombok, and that experience became a meaningful part of who he is. Now based in Tallinn, he wanted to bring that same feeling into a city that is colder, faster, and more reserved.

The challenge was simple to say, but harder to solve: when you enter Bali, the atmosphere should shift. Your mood should change, the room should feel warmer, and the whole experience should feel relaxed, welcoming, and full of care. We wanted people to feel that the products are made with love, attention, and quality. A true taste of paradise.

Bali Personality is anchored in this treats. Cool & Groovy, Simple & Approachable, Natural & Rudged, Playful & Fun, High Quality.

We created a visual language that feels bold, chunky, and deliberately imperfect. The wordmark has a sense of movement built into the letterforms, giving it a relaxed but confident personality. The colour palette is rooted in green, with tropical accent colours and sandy light backgrounds. For typography, we chose Comico for its organic, handwritten feel, to capture that handmade, relaxed atmosphere.
To support the communications and authentic feeling we created two set of illustrations one set of different scribbles and other little handraw objects that support Bali in its communications across all the brand, its menu, packaging, and communications.
